Dubai-based dnata has announced a strategic collaboration with Visit Barbados, with the goal of enticing more travelers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to the Caribbean island. Official figures from the tourism authority of Barbados have revealed a substantial 32 percent increase in the number of travelers from the GCC region during 2023, compared to the previous year.

This noteworthy growth indicates the growing allure of Barbados as a destination among Gulf travelers. Recent data on passenger arrivals further underscore this trend, showing a significant rise in travel to Barbados from key GCC nations, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. This surge in tourists from these countries highlights the increasing popularity of Barbados as a sought-after travel destination in the Gulf region.

As part of the collaboration, Visit Barbados has exclusively designated dnata Representation Services, headquartered in Dubai, as its dedicated sales, marketing, and PR representative for the GCC region. This strategic partnership aims to provide travelers in the GCC with up-to-date information, exclusive rates, customized itineraries, and a comprehensive understanding of Barbados’ rich diversity.

The collaboration reflects the commitment to promoting Barbados as a high-value, sophisticated, and multifaceted destination. It seeks to enhance the island’s presence and attractiveness among Gulf travelers, fostering even greater visitation to its picturesque shores.
